Why It Matters

The Numbers Behind the Crisis

UNESCO classifies over 576 African languages as endangered. In Kenya alone, languages like Dahalo, El Molo and Yaaku have fewer than 100 fluent speakers remaining — all elderly. When they go, the language goes with them.

AfriTongue is building a digital archive and learning platform simultaneously. Every lesson published is not just education — it is documentation. A permanent record that a language once existed, was spoken by real people and carries real meaning.

Your funding contributes directly to this archive. We work with communities to record elders, document grammar structures and build authentic content that linguists and learners alike can access for generations.

For NGOs and Foundations

We welcome formal partnerships with cultural preservation organizations, educational foundations and African development NGOs. We provide impact reports, learner data and co-branded content aligned with your mission and reporting requirements.
